Topic:   Managing Stress for the Well-Being in the Workplace

Speaker: Dr. Adam Bowman PsyD, PHR, SHRM-CP, Senior Training Consultant, Sedgwick Claims Management Services, Inc.

According to the Stanford Center on Stress and Health, there is a direct correlation between an increase in worker stress and an increase in workplace accidents.  Excessive stress can lead to self-medication such as alcohol and medication that can lead to workplace injuries. Stress can also contribute to distraction. A stressed worker is more likely to be thinking about the stressors rather than the task at hand.  Stress has become an epidemic in modern society, and it effects how we live and work.  In this session we will talk about stress in the workplace and challenge some of the myths of stress and how organizations and leaders can navigate it to create better wellbeing in their colleagues and workplace.
