Why Join the Capital Area Safety Council?

All safety councils have the same goal: To increase safety awareness. But developing and maintaining a safe workplace is no easy task. It takes the combined efforts of local companies and community resources to promote safe work practices. Ohio has more than 70 Safety Councils, made up of local companies and organized through chambers of commerce, trade and manufacturing associations or other safety-minded organizations.

The Capital Area Safety Council (CASC) was formed in 2004 and currently has more than 200 members. The council serves Central Ohio employers who are interested in promoting and improving worker safety that results in reducing workers’ comp costs. In conjunction with the Ohio Bureau of Workers Compensation, the CASC holds regular monthly meetings to provide information on new techniques, products and services that improve and promote safe workplaces. A volunteer steering committee provides leadership to the Council by planning meetings, monitoring safety issues and establishing council bylaws and operations.

Who can join?

The CASC is open to all companies, corporations and individual employers in Ohio who are interested in promoting and learning more about workplace safety. Members are expected to support the Council by attending its monthly meetings and completing a semi annual report as part of the Ohio BWC annual Safety Rebate Program.
